GeoMattix LLC is a geospatial training and consulting company based in Sedona, Arizona. We are a woman-owned, SBA small business. GeoMattix takes its name from our founder and owner, Geographer Michele Mattix.
GeoMattix is committed to geospatial education. We help you successfully choose and integrate GPS and GIS technology into your workflow. Our services include consultation and training at our classroom in Sedona, Arizona and we can come to your business in person or via the internet for one-on-one and group custom trainings.

Some Projects We’ve Led
- Joshua Tree National Park—We facilitated the recruitment and training of 15 volunteers on how to use GPS to collect ecological data for an ongoing native plan study. We spent the day collecting data which were processed and donated to the National Park Service.
- Master of Advanced Study in GIS program at Arizona State University— Michele Mattix is a faculty member offering GPS courses.
- ESRI User Conference—As part of the Educational User Conference, we trained 4-H youth how to use GPS then we spent the day collecting data for Cabrillo National Monument. The data were processed and donated to the National Park Service.
- Conference workshop presenter. We offer GIS and GPS hands-on training workshops at geospatial conferences including ESRI User Conference – San Diego, AGIC (Arizona Geographic Information Council) annual conference – Arizona, ACSM (American Congress on Surveying and Mapping) – Phoenix, MEC (MicroComputers in Education Conference)- Tempe, AZ
- ArcUser Magazine—Authored an article on converting data from CAD to geodatabase.
